Understanding the Technician Portal: Role-Based Access in CleanWiz

As your cleaning business grows, you need to provide your field staff with the information they need to do their jobs effectively—without exposing sensitive business financials, client billing details, or other technicians' schedules.

CleanWiz uses strict Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) to ensure that when a user is designated as a Technician, their view of the platform is entirely restricted and focused solely on their assigned work.

This article outlines exactly how the Technician Portal works, what your staff can see, and what is kept hidden.

1. The Restricted Dashboard ("My Schedule" Only)

When a technician/cleaner logs into CleanWiz, they do not see the standard administrative dashboard, instead they see their scheduled jobs.

Info
This eliminates the need for a mobile app, users simply log into CleanWiz.ai

Instead, their navigation is simplified to a single option: "My Schedule".

  • No Distractions: Technicians immediately see their jobs for the day, week, or month.
  • No Accidental Edits: They cannot modify settings, pricing, or customer records.
  • Mobile-Optimized: Fast loading and easy navigation in the field.
  • Ability to sync to their Google Calendar.

2. What Job Details Can a Technician See?

Technicians only see a need-to-know summary of each job:

  • Schedule & Location:
    • Date and arrival window
    • Customer address with map links
  • Service Requirements:
    • Service type (Standard, Deep Clean, Move In/Out)
    • Add-ons (Oven, Windows, etc.)
    • Property details (size, bedrooms, pets)
  • Access & Logistics:
    • Entry instructions
    • Job notes from admin or customer
  • Basic Customer Contact:
    • First name
    • Phone number for coordination

3. What Information is Hidden from Technicians?

Sensitive business and customer data is fully restricted.
  • 🚫 Financial Data: No pricing, invoices, or payment details
  • 🚫 Full CRM History: No access to past issues, notes, or customer value
  • 🚫 Other Staff Schedules: Only assigned jobs are visible
  • 🚫 Business Metrics: Reports and revenue data are restricted

4. Managing Technician Availability

Technicians also have access to a "My Availability" tab within their portal.

  • Set their available schedule. You will only be able to schedule them for jobs on dates and time where the technician is available and doesn't already have another job assigned.
  • Block unavailable days or hours
  • Technicians can sync their schedule with their Google Calendar.

Info
Availability updates sync instantly with dispatch, preventing scheduling conflicts.

Summary

The CleanWiz Technician Portal acts as a digital clipboard for your field staff—giving them everything they need to deliver a 5-star service while keeping your business data fully secure.
